These Terms of Use govern your use of Middle-earth Companion. By using the App you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Unofficial fan-made app

Middle-earth Companion is an unofficial, fan-made reference app. It is not produced by, endorsed by, or affiliated with the rights holders of Middle-earth. Answers are generated from original-authored reference summaries. "Middle-earth" and related names are trademarks of their respective owners; this app is unofficial and not affiliated with or endorsed by the rights holders.

2. What the App does

The App helps you explore Middle-earth through grounded Q&A, a daily fact, and a browsable lore library. Answers are generated from original-authored reference summaries — not from copyrighted source text. AI-generated answers can be incomplete or wrong; verify important details from official sources.

3. Subscriptions

Middle-earth Companion+ unlocks optional features (such as unlimited questions, extra themes, or languages) and is billed by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage subscriptions in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the App to harass others, attempt to extract copyrighted text, or abuse the service (automated scraping, rate-limit evasion, or reverse engineering). We may suspend access for abuse.

5. Disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

6. Changes

We may update these Terms; the current version applies with the effective date shown above.
